Job Description – Asset Metadata Steward Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Asset Metadata Steward to support ongoing IT Asset Management (ITAM) operations within the ServiceNow platform. This role will focus on asset data cleanup, normalization, governance, and lifecycle management across hardware and software environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on ServiceNow experience, knowledge of IT asset lifecycle management, and a passion for maintaining accurate, standardized enterprise asset data. Key Responsibilities Clean, normalize, and standardize asset data within ServiceNow Manage hardware and software model normalization activities Retire outdated or unused asset models and records Review and resolve legacy requests, workflows, and tickets Support ongoing asset governance and data quality initiatives Maintain consistency across asset naming conventions and classifications Work closely with CMDB teams to ensure alignment between asset and configuration data Review newly discovered asset data and validate accuracy Support lifecycle tracking, model aging analysis, and end‑of‑life monitoring Build and maintain operational dashboards and reporting metrics Assist with executive and operational reporting visibility Identify opportunities to improve asset management processes and operational maturity Required Qualifications 2–4+ years of hands‑on experience with ServiceNow Experience working within IT Asset Management (ITAM) environments Strong understanding of hardware and software asset lifecycle management Experience with data normalization and data quality management Familiarity with CMDB concepts and asset relationships Strong analytical and organizational skills Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced operational environment High attention to detail and data accuracy Preferred Qualifications Experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro Understanding of software licensing and entitlements Experience building dashboards and reporting within ServiceNow Knowledge of ServiceNow Performance Analytics Technical Skills ServiceNow ITAM Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Software Asset Management (SAM) CMDB Data Governance Lifecycle Management Performance Analytics ServiceNow Administration Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is: Detail‑oriented and highly organized Comfortable working with large volumes of asset data Experienced in operational support and governance Passionate about data quality and standardization Able to identify inconsistencies and drive cleanup efforts Comfortable working independently while collaborating cross‑functionally Nice to Have SAM Pro certification or hands‑on exposure Experience with global/international asset environments Exposure to asset discovery and reconciliation processes #J-18808-Ljbffr
