About the Job Your mission is to conduct deep-dive declaration questionnaires, extract critical case facts, and translate these details into English for our Legal Writers. Note: This is an interviewing and fact-gathering role; you are the foundation upon which our legal narratives are built. You will also play a key role in supporting clients, ensuring accurate case management, and enhancing operational efficiency. You handle declaration questionnaires, client reviews, and documentation updates, while fostering collaboration within the team and identifying opportunities for improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead comprehensive interviews with clients (often involving sensitive/traumatic topics) to complete internal declaration questionnaires. Ensure every relevant date, location, and event is captured with high precision. #2 Linguistic Synthesis & Translation Accurately translate client responses from Spanish to English, maintaining the nuance and voice of the client's story. Organize and summarize interview data into a clean, structured format to be handed off to the Legal Writing Team for final drafting. #3 Case Management Review the package with clients to ensure it is complete, accurate, and ready for filing. Verify that all documents, forms, and declarations meet filing requirements and address any client’s concerns. Track the progress of clients’ cases, including filing deadlines, interviews, and other critical milestones. Provide case updates if asked, although the primary responsibility lies with the legal admin assistant. #4 Client Communication Serve as a point of contact for clients when necessary, addressing inquiries and providing updates on case progress if requested. Maintain clear and professional communication via phone, email, and in-person interactions. #5 Case Documentation Update the database with client information when speaking with a client. Create client timelines for attorney’s reviews based on the client’s documents and questionnaires. #6 Resource Coordination Assist clients in accessing necessary resources such as medical care, counseling, or other support services related to their cases. Maintain a network of external resources and referrals to meet clients' diverse needs. #7 Admin Support Provide general administrative assistance to attorneys when needed. Coordinate with other staff members to ensure seamless workflow and collaboration within the firm. Communicate directly with team members to resolve blockers before escalating. Ask questions when another team member's work is blocking yours to understand timelines, dependencies, or what you can do to help move things forward. You're the ideal fit if you: Are bilingual (Spanish & English) with strong detail-oriented & communication skills. Bring at least 1 year of experience in Immigration Law for U.S.-based firms. +1 year of experience in similar roles: Declaration Interviewer, Case Strategist, or Legal Assistant, with a strong focus on declaration questionnaires. Background in Psychology or Social Work is a plus. Empathy, active listening skills, and the ability to handle emotional conversations professionally. Interpersonal, problem-solving, process-improvement, and analytical skills. Technical Requirements Candidates must have a laptop or desktop computer with 8GB RAM, Core i5 or above.
