Operations & Logistics Manager – Bogota, Colombia Key Responsabilities Operations Oversee and manage all aspects of day-to-day vessel and cargo operations in Colombia, ensuring alignment with PIL’s operational standards. Monitor and coordinate vessel arrival schedules, berthing, cargo loading/unloading, and turnaround times. Liaise with port authorities, terminal operators, shipping agents, and vendors to ensure seamless operations. Optimize cost efficiencies by reviewing operational expenses, including port costs, stevedoring, and logistics services. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices during port operations. Manage documentation processes such as Approval to Carry (ATC) for containers, port documentation, equipment tracking, and vessel manifest extraction. Troubleshoot operational issues, provide timely solutions, and elevate critical matters as necessary. Analyze operational performance and prepare reports, identifying opportunities for improvement. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and service providers. Logistics Develop and implement logistics strategies to meet the company’s operational and financial goals. Oversee the management of depots, transportation, and distribution activities. Ensure compliance with all local and international logistics regulations. Build and maintain strong relationships with logistics partners, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. Develop budgets and manage logistics costs to ensure profitability. Lead and mentor the logistics team, providing guidance and support for professional development. Assist the organization to reach Intermodal budget through participation in the procurement process and set up Standard Operating Procedures for the business. Actively participate in the Landside procurement process (Depots, Reefer services etc.) to secure competitive operating costs. Actively engage vendors for performance review and cost saving initiatives. Must Have Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in shipping operations, port management, or logistics within a container shipping environment. Strong understanding of vessel operations, port systems, and cargo handling and shipping logistics. Proficiency in operational documentation and shipping systems. Proficiency in logistics management systems and MS Office Suite and Power BI. We Value Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle high-pressure situations.
