We are seeking a Regulatory Compliance Specialist to ensure our merchants meet international product compliance requirements while enabling rapid market expansion. You will manage end‑to‑end compliance projects, from regulatory screening to full product approvals, acting as the key interface between merchants, internal stakeholders, and external regulatory consultants. This role blends hands‑on regulatory research, project management, and AI‑powered compliance intelligence to deliver fast, actionable guidance to our clients. You will be expected to leverage AI tools for monitoring regulatory changes, automating ingredient and document checks, organizing compliance databases, and accelerating merchant onboardingせ without compromising accuracy. Key Responsibilities Regulatory Screening & Research Conduct regulatory assessments for new and existing merchants, including ingredient reviews, product labeling checks, and market‑specific admissibility requirements. Use AI‑powered monitoring and search tools to track, summarize, and interpret changes in global regulations across target markets (US, CA, UK, EU, AU, etc.). Evaluate both trade compliance (customs clearance, carrier restrictions) and product compliance (safety testing, registration, labeling) risks for direct‑to‑consumer and in‑country enablement shipments. Maintain a structured knowledge base of regulatory requirements for core product categories. Manage end‑to‑end compliance onboarding for merchants, ensuring all restricted products are flagged, documented, and addressed before launch. Leverage AI‑based ingredient and HS code validation tools to speed up product eligibility checks. Develop and maintain category‑specific checklists and SOPs, using AI summarization and template creation to ensure consistency and speed. Collaborate with sales, onboarding, and operations teams to communicate compliance requirements clearly and efficiently. External & Internal Stakeholder Management Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory consultancies, labs, and government agencies. Coordinate with internal customs and trade compliance teams to align product compliance with carrier, clearance, and shipping method constraints. Maintain vendor relationships and ensure consultants are engaged efficiently, with AI‑enabled tracking of case status and turnaround times. Process Improvement & Automation Use AI and automation tools to improve data gathering, regulatory tracking, and compliance reporting. Identify process gaps and propose tech‑enabled solutions to improve onboarding speed, accuracy, and scalability. Document compliance workflows thoroughly, creating reusable assets and guides for internal teams and merchants. Qualifications Required 3+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, preferably in consumer‑packaged goods, food & beverage, health & beauty, or dietary supplements. Hands‑on experience with ingredient screening, product classification, and compliance documentation. Proficiency with collaborative tools (Google Workspace, Notion, Slack, Jira) and readiness to learn and implement AI‑based tools in a compliance setting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance.
