Purpose In this role you will lead and oversee Insurance Domain Technology applications and teams in both Colombia and Canada, ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. You will work closely with project and business teams to align partners and stakeholders and deliver solutions on time. You are also responsible for maintenance and support of the technology after implementation and for people‑management activities. Accountabilities Leads and drives a customer‑focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Provides overall leadership and technical guidance that enables creative delivery of Insurance applications and coordinates teams to deliver according to the global insurance roadmap. Ensures the Insurance solution is modern, resilient and cost‑effective, managing the end‑to‑end delivery process. Ensures software is delivered on time, resilient, on budget and meets business expectations. Owns, manages and maintains a thorough understanding of the Insurance system capabilities, gaps and opportunities. Provides analytic support in the development and implementation of strategic plans. Assists in reviewing and evaluating business initiatives, products and projects, and formulates insightful guidance for business leaders. Manages a global development team to deliver annual objectives and supports business partners on their various timelines. Owns, maintains, supports and enhances existing applications, including regular code reviews for release activities, production issue analysis and root‑cause analysis for outages and implementation issues. Assists product owners and business analysts in discovering current system behavior and recommends improvements. Participates in Architecture Review and manages budget. Understands how the bank’s risk appetite and culture should guide day‑to‑day decisions. Creates an environment in which the team pursues effective, efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank’s values, code of conduct, and global sales principles, ensuring compliance controls are adequate and effective for operational, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Education / Experience / Other Information Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related discipline. 4-6 years of work‑related experience in the financial services industry or a similar role managing a budget of CAD 4 MM+. Experience with consumer banking products and business process management products. 5+ years of experience delivering large‑scale programs and global products. Strong and proven analytical skills. Strong working knowledge of business solutioning, documentation and process mapping. Strong technical solution management experience and skills. Ability to work autonomously under tight timelines. Ability to work in a dynamic environment where processes and procedures are continuously refined. Strong capability to work with senior business leaders. Strong verbal, written and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong people‑management skills and experience.
