Job Description We currently have a career opportunity for a SAP Commerce Backend Engineer to join our team located in LATAM. Responsibilities Develop and implement complex SAP Commerce backend features, customizations, and integrations using Java, the Spring Framework, and clean code principles (e.g., core commerce, search, OMS). Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot backend data integrations, specifically utilizing SAP Commerce Integration Objects, to connect with external systems such as CPQ platforms within complex B2B environments. Ensure high backend code quality, performance, and stability in Java/Spring-based development through rigorous code reviews, automated testing (e.g., JUnit, Mockito), and technical mentorship. Troubleshoot and resolve complex SAP Commerce backend issues (Java code, integrations, data), including performance tuning (SQL/FlexibleSearch, caching, SOLR), utilizing logs and APM tools. Contribute significantly to backend technical design and architecture for Java/Spring-based SAP Commerce solutions, ensuring scalability, security, maintainability, and collaborating with architects. Stay current with SAP Commerce Cloud, Java, and Spring Framework updates and best practices; identify, evaluate, and drive backend technical improvements and participate in platform upgrades. Qualifications Possess 5+ years of hands‑on SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) backend development experience, grounded in strong proficiency with its base programming language (Java) and core framework (Spring - including Core, MVC, Security, Data, Integration), alongside deep knowledge of platform modules and data models. Demonstrated experience architecting or developing backend solutions for complex B2B SAP Commerce implementations, with mandatory hands‑on expertise using SAP Commerce Integration Objects for robust data exchange. Prior project experience involving CPQ integration is highly desirable. Deep understanding of the SAP Commerce platform architecture, including the type system, persistence layer (FlexibleSearch, ORM), caching strategies (RegionCache, Ehcache), SOLR search/indexing configuration and optimization, and advanced data management using ImpEx. Solid understanding and practical experience with SAP Commerce Cloud (CCv2) environments, including code repository management (Git), build/deployment processes (using Cloud Portal/CI/CD tooling), cloud monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Splunk/OpenSearch), and familiarity with headless (Spartacus) integration points. Experience developing within Agile/Scrum methodologies, utilizing tools like Jira and Confluence, combined with proficiency in backend debugging techniques, logging frameworks (e.g., Log4j2), and applying performance analysis/tuning to backend code and database queries. SAP Certified Development Professional is a strong plus.
