Purpose Contributes to the organization’s cybersecurity posture by identifying, analyzing, and contextualizing cyber threats that may impact business operations, technology environments, and customers. This role transforms technical and strategic intelligence from multiple sources into timely, actionable insights to support risk‑informed decision making across security operations, incident response, and senior leadership. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Accountabilities Champions a customer‑focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Conduct research and analysis of cyber threat activity, including threat actors, campaigns, vulnerabilities, and emerging techniques, to assess potential impact to the organization. Maintain ongoing situational awareness of the LATAM cyber threat landscape, monitoring relevant geopolitical, sectoral, and criminal activity. Strive in creating quality technical papers documenting security threats, risks, and mitigation techniques. Take part in initiatives to provide security‑focused recommendations to the organization based on intelligence findings. Communicate situational awareness and technical intelligence to internal and external stakeholders and trusted partners with a focus on the LATAM region. Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day‑to‑day activities and decisions. Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of the respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day‑to‑day business controls. Education / Experience / Other Information Advanced communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills in English and Spanish (B1+ / B2). 2–3 years of hands‑on technical working experience in network security, information security, and/or network support. Developed capabilities in prioritizing and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner. Working knowledge of various network principles, cyber security concepts, investigation procedures, and adversary techniques. Strong analytical and problem‑resolution skills. Familiarity with evaluating and sharing Indicators of Compromise (IoCs), Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) via reports, formal briefs, and threat indicator sharing platforms. Familiarity with reviewing and recommending countermeasures across various security controls (IDS, IPS, SIEM, Web Content Filtering, etc.) to identify and detect known threats. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present to senior‑level executives as well as technical staff. Broad knowledge of common cyber adversaries, attack vectors, intrusion tactics, and attacker tools. Experience in analyzing and interpreting data from multiple sources, documenting the results, and providing meaningful analysis reports and briefings. Post‑secondary education in Computer Science or a related field. Security certifications (e.g., GSEC, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, CompTIA Networking+, ITIL, CEH, OSCP) would be an asset.
