Purpose Leads and oversees Chile Insurance Systems in International Banking ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed/delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Accountabilities Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Manages the team (direct and indirect reports) in the area of project scheduling, technical direction, future planning and standard development practices. Manages the department and project recruitment, identifies training requirement, retention and staff performance. Ensures proper support procedures and processes are in place to support existing production systems. Establishes and champions quality improvement activities for the department. Functions independently to ensure that assigned tasks and project objectives are met. Accountable for managing assigned project and department budgets. Works closely with customers, Business Analysts and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Meets scheduled milestones to ensure project/program objectives are met in a timely manner, in compliance with the IT Technology Roadmap and possesses an in‑depth knowledge of the principles, theories, practices and techniques for managing the activities related to planning, managing and implementing software projects and programs using Agile Scrum and Kanban framework. Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day‑to‑day activities and decisions. Involved in the full systems development life cycle and is responsible for leading the team on designing, coding, testing, implementing and supporting applications software to ensure the applications are delivered on time and within budget. Provides technical lead to team on production and user acceptance testing application support. Provides effort and cost estimations for new enhancements or new initiatives for the Insurance Technology Domain in International Banking. Provides guidance and arranges training to less experienced analysts and programmers. Keeps current on rapidly changing technological trends, self‑teaches new technologies and maintains an understanding of the Division’s business and technology strategies. Provides overnight production support to assigned application when required. Dimensions 3–10 team members Support Chile based applications Manages capital budget, annual project cost, operating budget. 5+ projects per fiscal year; 3–6 systems. May be required to work off hours to support production systems and regulatory requirements. Education & Experience Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent education/experience. Postgraduate in Software Engineering, Software Architecture, Project Management, Digital Transformation or equivalent. 5+ years of IT experience, with a minimum of 4 or more years of advanced technical work experience. 3+ years of progressive IT experience leading/supervising teams of 5+ members. 3+ years of experience leading software development projects. Worked in Agile labs or used Agile Scrum and Kanban framework. Strong project management skills, ability to manage concurrent tasks and initiatives. Adapt at organisational change management skills is key to be successful in this role. Requires advanced expertise in complex business/technical processes and their application within the organization. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Strong leadership, mentoring, coaching and motivational skills. Vendor management skills, experience in negotiating contractual terms and managing offshore development teams. Technical Skills & Knowledge Required Familiarity with micro‑service architecture and 12‑Factor App concepts. Familiarity with REST APIs and how they differ from SOAP. Familiarity with Design Patterns, and how to apply them. Familiarity with PostgreSQL, SQL Server. Familiarity with Kubernetes and Cloud Infrastructure would be an asset. Working Conditions Work in a hybrid environment; non‑standard hours are a common occurrence. Limited international travel.
