Infrastructure Engineer III / Email Administrator Location: Bogota, Colombia Work Mode: 100% Remote Employment Type: Independent Contractor (hourly pay, no benefits, and you’re responsible for your own taxes) Contract Duration: 12 Months About The Role: The Infrastructure Engineer III / Email Administrator will be a key member of the Infrastructure Operations team, responsible for supporting and maintaining the Office 365 and Azure environments . This role provides Tier 3 support for Office 365 and Azure, resolving escalated incidents from Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams, ensuring system reliability, and maintaining documentation, policies, and procedures that promote a healthy and secure environment. The engineer will focus on email administration , managing email systems, ensuring platform integrity and security, overseeing capacity and utilization, and collaborating with IT administrators to mitigate risks such as virus alerts or related security threats. Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills are essential, as this role involves close interaction with supervisors, project leads, and mentors to maintain quality and adherence to organizational standards. This position requires a solid foundational understanding of Office 365, Azure, and related technologies , typically supported by a relevant degree and 1–3 years of experience in a similar environment. The role may also involve management of GroupWare systems and participation in initiatives to enhance system performance and user experience. Requirements Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field. 1-3+ years of experience with Office 365/Azure Entra Support Experience working in an Exchange Hybrid Environment (On-Premises Exchange 2019) Basic knowledge of additional Office 365 technologies SharePoint, OneDrive, Power BI Proficient with PowerShell scripting and other scripting skills used to manage 0365/Azure Resources Understanding of Mail Relay/Flow and the Security protocols around it. Understanding of Active Directory and Active Directory Attributes Conceptual knowledge of theories, principles, and practices within the discipline and industry. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build stable internal working relationships. Other Skills Basic knowledge of Windows Server technologies Technical documentation skills Excellent troubleshooting and research skills Familiar with Incident and Change Management processes (ServiceNow) Responsibilities Manage/Troubleshoot both 0365/Azure Entra related incidents to include many of the following functions: Exchange Mailboxes/Resources, Azure Entra Users/Groups, Microsoft Defender Protection of User Accounts/Mail Flow. Administrators Mailboxes, Power BI Workspaces, SharePoint/Teams Spaces, and Power Automate workspaces following best practices by Microsoft for both the domestic and international markets Monitors the performance of the on-premises and online flow, application availability, and security to ensure stable and consistent customer experience Works across multiple teams to troubleshoot and resolve customer related issues around Email Security such as DMARC/DKIM/SPF, Firewall access to the Microsoft Platform, and Desktop/custom applications that connect to the 0365 Platform. Engineer and maintain proactive monitoring and security improvements of mail flow, user access to the platform, and other features within Azure to further protect users, and implement best practice of least privilege security access to the data stored within the 0365/Azure platform.
