We help restaurateurs around the world succeed in online food delivery, making food more affordable, higher quality, and convenient for everyone. We transform underutilized properties into smart kitchens that serve restaurateurs, customers, and neighborhoods, creating jobs and providing diverse, healthy food options. What You’ll Do We are seeking a Structural Engineer to support the design, evaluation, and execution of our facility development projects. The role focuses on adaptive reuse and renovation projects, requiring engineers who can quickly understand existing building behavior, identify constraints, and develop practical structural solutions that support operational requirements while minimizing construction costs and schedule impacts. You will work closely with Architecture, Mechanical, Plumbing, Civil, Geotechnical, Construction, and Development teams to develop structural concepts that are safe, constructable, scalable, and economical. Key Responsibilities Perform structural due diligence assessments on existing buildings to evaluate: Gravity load systems Lateral force resisting systems Existing foundations Structural deficiencies and deterioration Capacity for proposed occupancies and equipment loads Identify compromised structural elements including: Corrosion Material degradation Settlement Overstressed members Inadequate historical modifications Develop structural strategies for integrating new facility requirements into existing buildings. Determine structural strengthening requirements for: Gravity systems Lateral systems Foundations Equipment support structures Develop foundation concepts and design strategies for new and existing facilities. Analyze building load paths and identify critical structural elements that influence project feasibility and cost. Coordinate structural requirements with architectural layouts, mechanical equipment loads, plumbing infrastructure, civil improvements, and geotechnical recommendations. Review and provide technical guidance to external consultants and Engineers of Record (EORs) throughout design development and construction documentation phases. Support permitting efforts and coordinate with Building Departments and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs). Participate in value engineering exercises to reduce construction costs, simplify construction methods, and accelerate project delivery.
