Purpose of the role In this role, you’ll work autonomously on complex engineering tasks, applying advanced theories, techniques, and industry practices. You’ll guide engineering and design activities, influence decisions, support high‑impact deliverables, and lead small teams to ensure safe, reliable, and high‑quality outcomes across diverse industries. Core responsibilities Execute advanced engineering work across conceptual, basic and detailed phases for projects in Oil & Gas, Mining, Infrastructure and other industrial sectors. Apply competent knowledge of regulations, codes, design standards and industry practices to guide engineering decisions and deliverables. Make responsible decisions defining the course of engineering, design and modeling deliverables; elevate highly complex issues to the Discipline or Engineering Manager when needed. Plan and organize engineering tasks independently, ensuring alignment with project objectives, schedules and priorities. Lead or collaborate with teams of up to 10 engineers and designers, providing technical direction and supporting performance evaluations when applicable. Manage assignments with clear objectives, considering critical interfaces and impacts across other units or disciplines. Prepare and deliver proposals, technical reports, presentations and documentation for stakeholders and discipline leadership. Work effectively with specialized design, analysis, and modeling tools, including data‑centric and interdisciplinary platforms. Maintain strong communication and professional relationships across the organization, demonstrating diplomacy, clarity and constructive collaboration. Prioritize work efficiently, support others in meeting their goals, and uphold high standards of quality and accuracy. Demonstrate adaptability when learning new complex concepts, technologies or methodologies. Analyze problems thoroughly, understand interdependencies, and propose effective and practical engineering solutions. Skills & experience More than 10 years of relevant engineering experience. Advanced understanding of regulations, design codes, manufacturing standards and industry best practices. Experience preparing proposals and estimating project costs. Proven experience in conceptual, basic and detailed engineering across industrial sectors. Strong technical knowledge in: Field Instrumentation DCS (Distributed Control Systems) ESD (Emergency Shutdown Systems) Functional Safety Process Safety Telecommunications Competency with specialized engineering design, analysis and modeling tools. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams). Excellent communication skills—clear, structured and persuasive. Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship‑building and team‑leadership capabilities. Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while supporting development of others.
