Role Overview The Senior Associate, Business Intelligence is a member of the Employee Technology Solutions & Support Team working within the Employee Digital Experience (EDX) department of the bank. The team empowers technology decision‑making by providing insights supported by data and analytics. The Senior Associate brings a strong background in data analysis, visualization, and transforming raw data into actionable insights, contributing to all areas of advanced BI & analytics. Accountabilities Support the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable BI solutions. Support small‑medium BI projects and/or defined workstreams within large projects. Demonstrate ownership to develop and implement efficient data models for BI initiatives. Develop advanced data models aligned to business needs and maintain ETL processes for efficient integration and transformation. Define and enforce data governance best practices to ensure quality, integrity, and security in Power BI solutions. Partner with data engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective BI solutions. Perform advanced statistical and predictive analyses to generate insights and support data‑driven decisions. Produce exploratory analyses, reports, and dashboards for diverse stakeholders. Maintain and enhance reports and dashboards as business needs evolve. Stay current on BI trends and technologies; recommend and implement enhancements to advance analytics capabilities. Apply the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in day‑to‑day decisions. Operate efficiently and in line with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, and maintain effective controls for operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk. Foster a high‑performance, inclusive work environment. Qualifications 2‑3 years of working experience with Power BI. Strong proficiency in Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), M, ETL (Power Query), SQL (or data extraction and integration tools) and performance optimization. Proficiency in ServiceNow/ITIL and the Reporting/Platform Analytics modules. Proficiency with Excel, VBA, and experience working with large data sets. Knowledge of Python, R, SAS is an asset. Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine solutions. Creative and highly motivated self‑starter with results orientation. Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills with a solution‑oriented attitude. Proven interpersonal, communication (verbal/written/presentation) and negotiation skills to build consensus and obtain cooperation from users and senior management. Ability to work independently and autonomously in the management of projects, teams, and operational discipline, and can develop strategic thinking and planning throughout work plan execution (short‑to‑medium‑term business perspective). Keen interest and curiosity in keeping current with rapidly changing technology. Bi‑lingual (English and Spanish) B2+. Working Conditions Hybrid working model, 8 days per month in office.
