Business Systems Specialist (IT) The Opportunity This is a role based in Bogotá, Colombia. Serve as a strategic liaison between IT and business stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable and effective technology solutions. This role provides end-to-end support to assigned business areas by leveraging IT and business expertise to analyze processes, define requirements, and develop business cases that drive operational efficiency and business value. Additionally, the role supports system stability and operations by managing user support, application access, and system health for the Vaisala ViewLinc application within Abbott Medical Devices IT. What You’ll Do Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures. Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and IT to translate needs into technical requirements. Analyze business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions. Develop business requirements and contribute to business case creation for initiatives. Support initiatives and projects across different phases, from discovery through implementation. Partner with corporate service providers to evaluate and leverage existing applications. Maintain system health by following established guidelines and procedures. Manage user access provisioning/deprovisioning to ensure compliance. Resolve Level 2 support tickets and provide assistance to end users. Assist in system configurations, including setup of monitoring locations. Manage initiatives according to defined milestones and timelines. Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency. Provide guidance to less experienced team members and support staff. Contribute to strategic planning activities such as demand management and roadmap development. May conduct user training and support adoption of systems. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required (Associate degree may be considered depending on experience). Minimum 1 year of experience in IT systems support, business analysis, or related roles. Experience working with business stakeholders and translating requirements into solutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience with systems support, ticket management, or application administration is preferred. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a team environment.
