Purpose Contribute to the overall success of the Asset Servicing Utility ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Accountabilities Drives and enhances a customer‑focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Ensures operational efficiency of Corporate Actions is maintained at a high level in accordance with approved policy and procedures by organizing, prioritizing, and supervising workflows, accurately processing mandatory Corporate Actions such as stock splits, reverse splits, name changes, checking/authorizing various components of events as assigned, and monitoring outstanding payments due from depositories/issuers/financial institutions. Assists in the implementation of new processes/systems as required; identifies challenges and pursues opportunities to improve processing efficiency; solves problems of an unusual nature including identifying the root cause of the problem and what is required to prevent a recurrence. Ensures a high level of customer service is provided to all business lines by ensuring all transactions are completed accurately and timely. Ensures effective procedural and management controls are in place, follows escalation procedures for any potential losses, and challenges/reviews existing procedures to ensure adequate controls are implemented. Provides ongoing assistance to the department manager by reviewing and ensuring the control accounts are updated or cleared daily to avoid outstanding items from aging. Trains and cross‑trains other team members when required and provides support with each other’s functions, volumes, projects, and performs any ad‑hoc functions/sundry duties. Understands how the bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day‑to‑day activities and decisions. Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day‑to‑day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct. Dimensions Sound knowledge of the bank’s Securities & Operations group and securities industry practices and regulations. Understanding of ADP’s bookkeeping applications as well as the various systems and processes used by securities depositories (CDS, DTCC and sub‑custodians Clearstream, Citi, BNP and HSBC). Good organizational skills including the ability to effectively prioritize, delegate and deal with a variety of tasks and situations on an ongoing basis.
