Role Overview Lean Tech is seeking a Machine Learning Platform Engineer to design, build, and scale our machine learning platform and data‑driven product capabilities. The role is critical to enabling high‑impact ML solutions that drive business value and maximize profitability. You will work at the intersection of platform engineering, machine learning, and product development—owning systems end‑to‑end while collaborating cross‑functionally with engineers, data scientists, and product leaders. This opportunity allows you to contribute to strategic roadmap initiatives, improve platform performance, and shape the future of ML‑powered products at scale. Availability: Hybrid – 2 days at the office / Medellín, Colombia only. Required Qualifications (Main skills) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 3+ years of experience in MLOps, including feature stores, model registries, and model serving 3+ years of experience building scalable backend services in Python with FastAPI Strong experience with ML/data libraries such as Scikit‑learn, Pandas, and NumPy 2+ years of experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) Experience designing scalable, maintainable distributed systems Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in cloud‑native environments Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including both traditional ML and deep learning Strong system design skills, including microservices and event‑driven architectures Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills Nice to Have Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face Familiarity with experimentation platforms such as Statsig Experience working with Elasticsearch or similar search technologies Key Skills & Competencies Ability to work as an independent contributor with minimal supervision Strong communication skills, both technical and non‑technical Excellent problem‑solving and debugging abilities High attention to detail and commitment to quality Strong organizational and time management skills Adaptability and a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset Prior experience in startups or high‑growth environments Lean Tech is an equal‑opportunity employer.
