Discover the Role The Market Privacy Officer (MPO) is a member of the Group Privacy Office, which is part of Group Risk & Compliance and led by the Group Data Privacy Director. The Group Privacy Office has a strategic role in keeping TMF Group and the local TMF Group entities in good data protection standing, to advise on and monitor data protection compliance and simultaneously support and provide workable solutions for sales, service, and internal support functions. The MPO is a second line of defense role within TMF Group’s Group Risk & Compliance function. The role is responsible for overseeing and monitoring the implementation of data protection across TMF Group entities in its market, considering local data protection laws, TMF current privacy policies/program of TMF Group and the guidelines of the Data Privacy Director. The MPO also advises on data protection compliance within the assigned market, in line with applicable local data protection laws and TMF Group’s global privacy framework. Key Responsibilities Privacy Oversight & Compliance Oversee and monitor data protection implementation across assigned markets Review and provide guidance on data processing agreements and privacy contractual arrangements Review and challenge Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) Review and challenge Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs) Monitor local personal data incidents and ensure compliance with breach handling procedures Oversee the handling of data subject rights requests Provide oversight on Records of Processing Activities (RoPA) setup and maintenance Advisory & Risk Management Provide expert advice on data protection compliance aligned with local laws and TMF’s global framework Support and guide first-line stakeholders on privacy-related matters Review and advise on client due diligence and third-party assessments from a privacy perspective Review and advise on email access requests Escalate risks, issues, and non-compliance to senior leadership as needed Support development and execution of remediation actions Partner with internal stakeholders across business, legal, and compliance teams Provide hands‑on support on complex or high‑risk privacy matters when required Act as backup for other markets and contribute to global privacy initiatives Maintain strong collaboration while preserving independence as a second line function Support ongoing enhancement of privacy processes and frameworks Stay up to date with regulatory developments and best practices Contribute to training, awareness, and knowledge‑sharing efforts across teams Key Requirements Technical & Professional Skills Strong knowledge of GDPR or similar data protection frameworks Experience in privacy, risk, or compliance functions (preferred) Ability to work independently in a second line of defense role Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities Experience handling risk, compliance, and governance processes Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools; knowledge of OneTrust is a plus Education & Certifications University degree in Law, Compliance, or a related field CIPP/E or equivalent certification is a plus Language Skills Excellent written and spoken English Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Proactive, curious, and comfortable escalating issues when necessary Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines High level of integrity and professional independence What’s in it for you?
