DFX5 is expanding its Quality Assurance department and seeking talented engineers to build something meaningful from the ground up. THE ROLE DFX5 is building its Quality Assurance department from scratch and needs the person who will define what that department looks like. This is not a role where you inherit a working system — you will design the processes, select the tools, write the standards, and hire the team. You will own QA discipline across Amazon Connect contact center implementations, full-stack cloud applications, data migrations, digital transformations, and security testing. The QA Manager reports directly to VP Engineering and is a member of the DFX5 delivery leadership team. This is a player-coach role. You will manage and develop the team while personally leading QA on the most complex projects. You will sit in client conversations, sign off on production deployments, and be the voice of quality when it matters most. You are the person the PM calls when a release decision is hard. WHAT YOU WILL DO Design and establish the DFX5 QA standards library: test plan templates, Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) templates, defect taxonomy, JIRA workflow configuration, UAT acceptance criteria templates, and QA sign-off document standards Build, hire, and develop the QA team: 2 Senior QA Engineers, 1 QA Tools Developer, 2 Junior QA Engineers — from job description through onboarding and 90-day ramp Lead QA engagements on the most complex DFX5 projects personally while the team grows; your judgment on what 'done' means is the standard the team follows Own the JIRA QA project configuration: workflows, issue types, custom fields, automation rules, dashboards, and SLA monitoring for all active projects Serve as primary QA liaison to all Project Managers: participate in kickoffs, sprint planning, and weekly status reviews; provide test status reports on a defined cadence Define, communicate, and enforce QA SLAs for defect response, regression gate criteria, and environment promotion approval across all service lines Review and sign QA Gate Documents before every production deployment; own the go/no-go recommendation for releases Establish and manage the QA support model for Managed Services and Technical Support teams: intake process, prioritization, turnaround SLAs, and escalation paths Produce monthly QA metrics reports for leadership: defect density, coverage rates, SLA compliance, automation coverage trend, and team velocity Partner with QA Tools Developer to define the Selenium framework architecture, CI/CD quality gate design, and automation coverage growth roadmap WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 7+ years in software quality assurance with at least 3 years in a QA lead or management role — directly responsible for team output and delivery timelines Proven experience managing multi-domain QA coverage: web/mobile applications, REST APIs, AWS cloud services, and at least one contact center or CCaaS platform JIRA administration experience: configuring workflows, issue types, custom fields, automation rules, and dashboards for a QA team in an active project environment Hands-on Selenium or UI automation experience at the team level — you have built or governed an automation framework, not just run scripts someone else wrote Experience writing formal test plans, RTMs, and QA gate documents in a client-delivery context — these are client-facing artifacts and must reflect that quality Strong communication: you can explain a quality risk to a bank CTO in plain language, and explain a SIP trunk failure to a developer in technical terms NICE TO HAVE Amazon Connect or CCaaS (Genesys, NICE, Five9) QA experience ISTQB Advanced Test Manager certification AWS certification (Developer or Solutions Architect) Experience hiring and onboarding QA engineers in a consulting or professional services environment WHAT WE OFFER You define the standards, choose the tools, and hire the team.
