The Role We are looking for a Senior Tax Associate with deep expertise in R&D tax credits and incentives to own complex studies end-to-end, support audits, and mentor junior team members. This is a senior individual contributor and reviewer role with high ownership, client exposure, and leadership impact. Key Responsibilities Independently own and deliver R&D tax credit and incentive studies end-to-end. Prepare and review complex calculations, workpapers, and technical documentation. Act as lead reviewer on junior work, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and quality. Support IRS and state audits, including IDR responses and substantiation. Mentor and coach junior associates to build independence and consistency. Maintain delivery discipline across timelines, WIP, and internal systems. Contribute to process improvements, templates, and SOP enhancements. What Success Looks Like Deliver audit-ready workpapers with minimal rework. Manage multiple R&D studies simultaneously. Lead client engagements with confidence and technical depth. Improve efficiency, cycle time, and team performance over time. Requirements 4–6+ years of U.S. tax experience , with strong specialization in R&D tax credits and incentives . Experience owning R&D studies end-to-end. Prior IRS and/or state audit experience. Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, U.S. tax law, and SALT . Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, formulas; Power Query a plus). Experience reviewing junior staff work. JD, CPA, or EA (preferred, not required). Professional English (written and spoken) .
