About The Job The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, and external audits. This person will support accounts payable, payroll activities, month-end close processes, and the preparation of reports supporting the financial statements. The Senior Accountant will report to and work closely with the Chief of Finance and other stakeholders across the organization in the analysis and reconciliation of accounts, as well as the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls. The ideal candidate possesses a strong operational and technical accounting background and works proactively to drive results. Lead full-cycle month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and expense recognition. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. Analyze accounting processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy. Coordinate internal and external audits to ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax regulations. Work closely with the HR department to ensure payroll, commissions, and tax reporting are accurate. Assist in the development and implementation of new accounting procedures and process improvements. Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash management activities. Prepare and file non-income tax returns, including sales and use tax, commercial activity tax, and estimated tax payments. Assist with financial reporting and account reconciliations. Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, and account reconciliations. Audit experience is required. Experience with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting principles. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
