Position: Production Support Specialist – Application Support Specialist (L1 & L2 – Java SaaS) Location: Remote (Colombia, Chile, Trinidad and Tobago, Mexico). Employees in Trinidad and Tobago operate a hybrid model. Type: Full‑time, Permanent. Responsibilities Provide client‑facing application production support and incident resolution for multiple insurance product lines. Ensure application performance, stability, and optimal functionality across the system landscape. Perform software deployment, configuration, and system monitoring tasks. Handle high‑severity tickets and act as escalation point, delivering timely and professional responses. Maintain integrations between product suites and customer systems. Monitor user‑reported issues and infrastructure alerts, track through to resolution. Conduct proactive readiness checks, identify gaps, and respond promptly to failures. Perform root cause investigations and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with DevOps, IT, and product teams to promote stability and operational excellence. Design and implement application monitors, alerts, and automations to improve stability. Assist in developing internal and external technical documentation. Support release coordination for production releases on behalf of clients. Communicate consistently with business stakeholders throughout incident and problem resolution processes. Adhere to procedures and continually improve maintenance processes for production solutions. Work on‑call schedule: every other weekend (twice a month). Technical Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a relevant College Diploma plus at least 3 years of related experience. Minimum 5 years of experience in Java software design, application development, systems integration, and SQL programming. Experience in a production support helpdesk or similar client‑facing role. Proficiency in Object‑Oriented Programming (Java or equivalent). Strong experience with Linux operating systems and SQL scripting with databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle. Experience in cloud architecture environments (Microsoft Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud). Excellent spoken and written English and Spanish. Nice to Haves Experience working with XML/JSON structures. Knowledge of the insurance industry. Experience or knowledge in OIPA (Oracle Insurance Policy Administrator). Familiarity with internal tools such as Git, JIRA, Confluence, PagerDuty, Zendesk, MS Teams, and Slack. Previous experience with Python.
