Responsibilities Position Purpose: The QA Engineer plans work for functional and automation testing, reviews team’s work output, performs training, and contributes hands‑on automation. They provide testing results, create test automation scripts, and continuously improve the software testing discipline. They demonstrate a highly collaborative approach, with excellent analytical, problem‑solving, organizational and interpersonal skills. Design, develop, and implement software testing solutions. Analyze and recommend test strategies, process improvements and standards. Assist in demonstrating developed solutions to business partners and stakeholders. Participate in user story refinement with developers and other team members. Document test results and communicate to the project team. Maintain traceability of test cases to project requirements. Develop and execute application performance testing. Work toward learning new tools and technology as required. Qualifications To land this role you will need: 5+ years of experience performing manual testing on a variety of applications (desktop, web based). Analyze requirements (business, functional, technical, and design) to create test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures. Experience in overall quality of releases and create/execute test scripts for a wide variety of applications (desktop and web based). Technical depth to create and run test scripts that cover a wide variety of scenarios such as smoke, functional, regression, integration, usability and performance testing but not limited to these. Working with tools such as JIRA/Azure DevOps, Confluence, TestRails to log bugs and test results. Perform all aspects of quality assurance during sprint cycles including test strategies, test case documentation, and test execution. Support QA process and activities during software engineering in an agile, scrum team environment, including Story Pointing, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews and Sprint Retrospectives. Identify, evaluate and recommend QA process and activities supporting software engineering in an agile, scrum team environment. Detail‑oriented, demonstrate initiative, good judgment, and resourcefulness. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and foster a team‑oriented, results‑driven culture. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to interact across all levels of the organization. Work with development teams to establish/maintain test environments, including test data and automation framework. Partner with delivery and support teams to review and understand business requirements, assist with technical implementations, and help resolve escalated client issues. Knowledge of QA and QA automation tools and experience writing unit and other tests. Readiness to learn and adopt new technologies. Ability to work with business analysts, peers, and project managers to understand their requirements. What makes you stand out Exposure within the financial services sector. Previous experience in investment banking or financial industry, or knowledge of finance, investment banking, and/or trading is preferred but not essential. Experience in testing stateless platforms (SOAP, RESTful web services or message queue systems). Strong knowledge of writing SQL queries, procedures, database development tools, and concepts. Experience with enterprise tools and CI tools such as Azure pipelines, Git, Jenkins. Desired/Preferred levels of education, experience, skills/competencies, etc. Education / Certification Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
