Overview Senior Telephony Engineer - Avaya (Colombia- 100% REMOTE) role at FPS Innovation Labs. 100% remote from Colombia. Responsibilities Develop and implement configurations based on customer telephony environment, discovery, and changing requirements including configuration of Avaya Aura System Manager, Session Manager, Communications Manager, voicemail, media servers, IM & Presence (AMM and Breeze). Maintain focus on foundational and emerging premise or cloud-based communications technologies such as SIP-based voice services and infrastructure. Work as part of a project team to implement Avaya Aura application servers and provide configuration support for adjunct equipment (IVR, CMS reporting, Call Recording, SIP PSTN services, and others). Conduct discovery of customer telephony environments for configuration and requirements gathering. Develop and deliver end-user administrator training. Lead technical sessions with customers to communicate network/system requirements and complete relevant data gathering forms. Discuss Avaya Aura network requirements and provide customer-specific information related to DHCP Scope Options and QoS. Lead discussions on system certificates and complete end-to-end implementation of certificates in the Avaya Aura stack. Lead technical resources for deployment of Avaya Aura virtualized and physical servers, including OVAs in new or upgrade environments, and communicate vm resource requirements. Implement features for customers based on Avaya Aura software platforms (e.g., E164 Dial Plan, shortcut dialing, SIP-based Remote Worker, call routing). Apply service packs/patches and perform licensing and registration tasks (PLDS, GRT) as applicable to Avaya Aura. Develop and execute acceptance test plans for customer Avaya Aura environments. Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to mature capabilities. Provide coaching and mentorship for less experienced voice engineers; ensure project delivery aligns with WTI standards and contracts. Maintain ongoing professional development to stay current with emerging technologies and best practices. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership. Education & Experience Hands-on experience with Avaya gateways and related server technologies; knowledge of Avaya core products (CM, Session Manager, System Manager, Gateways, LSP/ESS) and networking. Experience with Avaya Server technologies (Linux, ESXi) and using Linux commands for log searches. Trunk monitoring skills; experience with complex dial plans, auto-attendants, and wide-range configuration tools. Experience with QoS, contact centers, Equinox, Breeze, presence, and related Avaya solutions; remote worker deployment and troubleshooting; UcaaS and on-prem deployments. Solid understanding of DHCP scopes, DNS, and split-horizon DNS; AES implementation and troubleshooting; TSAPI, CVLAN, DMCC experience preferred. Excellent collaboration skills across teams and experience with remote access tools (VPN, Nectar, web-based tools). Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master’s preferred. Tech-focused field is desirable; relevant work experience considered in lieu of degree. 8+ years delivering Avaya Aura engagements; 4-7 years delivering complex telephony projects; 5+ years working with business stakeholders; 1+ year with Avaya Equinox conferencing; 2+ years with Equinox soft clients. Advanced to expert knowledge of Avaya Aura servers and products; certifications such as ACIS, ACSS are desirable; VMware certifications preferred; other certifications a plus.
