Organization: UN WomenJob Title: Accounts Payable ConsultantLocation: Home Based / RemoteClosing Date: October 13, 2025Job Type: Full-time, Individual ConsultancyInitial Contract Duration: 6 Months Under the guidance of the Deputy Director of Financial Management, the consultant will be responsible for managing accounts payable processes, ensuring compliance with UN Women’s financial regulations, and supporting financial operations across headquarters, regional, and country offices. Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work Review invoices based on proper supporting documents authorized by budget owners and project managers. Verify Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure proper matching; confirm receipts are within paid amounts. Prepare reports to analyze invoice errors and follow up on necessary corrections. Analyze accounting entries and make corrections as needed. Run daily interface payment reports to monitor dummy payments and UNDP payments; report discrepancies. Follow-up with headquarters on pending invoices. Verify and process ZDIs (Zero Dollar Invoices) with supporting documentation. Respond to financial data issues and provide administrative and financial support to regional, country, and headquarters offices. Prepare financial indicators and reports as required. Support Partner Advances and Liquidations processes when needed. Monitor and distribute GST requests related to Accounts Payable and Partner Advances. Review and approve invoices related to Partner Advances, ensuring proper documentation. Requirements Education & Work Experience High School Certificate required; university degree in Accounting or Finance is an advantage. Minimum of 6 years of relevant financial experience. Proven experience in financial reporting , ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft), and financial data analysis . Knowledge of IPSAS and/or IFRS is desirable. Strong accounting skills and understanding of financial rules and regulations . Proficiency in IT tools (MS Word, Excel, including advanced functions like VLOOKUP). Ability to analyze complex financial data and generate detailed reports. Excellent communication , relationship management , and problem-solving skills. Client-oriented approach with attention to accuracy and detail. Languages Fluency in English required. Knowledge of additional UN official languages is an advantage.
