About the Job Kent is looking for a Process Principal Safety Engineer to support ongoing projects. Responsibilities Promote risk awareness at all levels of the organization. Ensure that equipment and facility designs comply with international (OSHA, CCPS, API, NFPA, EPA, etc.) and national (NTC, decrees and laws) regulations, as well as customer regulations on process safety issues. Verify/evaluate the quality of ARPs in accordance with HSE-G-050 and fill out HSE-F-732 as part of ARP reports. Ensure proven competencies of ARP facilitators/analysts and document evidence/certifications in reports. Manage the closure of findings and/or recommendations of ARP workshops. Ensure the application of Inherent Safety/Inherently Safe Design in accordance with HSE-G-118 and fill out HSE-F-486. Lead corporate process safety audits in the development of projects. Act as a lead facilitator in HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA and What-If studies. Supervise, review or execute Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) and consequence dispersion models. Technically validate major modifications in the design of industrial facilities to avoid and/or mitigate process risks (Change Management). Review P&ID diagrams and mechanical designs from the conceptual phase (Safety by Design). Validate the sizing of safety valves (PSV) and flare systems. Participate in workshops on critical equipment and Value Enhancement Practices (PIV). Participate in the development of technical offers for the execution of engineering projects. Support in the development of project cost estimates (CAPEX) if required. Respond to technical queries from clients, interacting in formal and periodic meetings to resolve concerns and identify possible changes in scope or rework (change control). Perform other ad‑hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management within the reasonable scope of the employee’s skills and role. Knowledge, Qualifications, Training & Certification Professional in Chemical, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Electronic, Electrical, Electromechanical or related Engineering. Process Safety Management (PSM) certification or equivalent training in Process Safety is desirable. Experience and participation in the phases of design, assembly, commissioning, consulting and/or auditing of projects in the Oil and Gas sector. Knowledge of process risk management systems, mechanical integrity and/or asset management in the oil and gas industry. Knowledge and skills in implementing a process safety management system under recognized methodologies such as those established by CCPS, OSHA, API, EPA, IOGP. Knowledge of technological risk identification techniques (SAFOP, SAFAN, SYSOP, OPTAN, CHAZOP, HAZIP, Hazop, What if, QRA, LOPA, etc.) and demonstrable experience as a facilitator or senior reviewer of ARP/PHA. Knowledge of ARP workshop support tools and risk management (PHA‑Pro, Stature Risk, etc.). Communication Skills Excellent command of Spanish – English (desirable) in both oral and written communication. Core Competencies 10.1 to 20 years of experience, according to the specialty. Knowledge, interpretation and application of norms and standards applicable to the Oil & Gas sector. Experience in design in the Oil & Gas sector according to the specialty.
